Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BAGC Multimedia Pvt. Ltd. (“BAGC”, “we”, “us”) — publisher of Galaxia Quest (RNI No. DLENG/26/A2442) — collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit www.galaxiaquest.com, sign in to your account, or read the magazine.

We have written this in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to us at dev@shownomore.com.

1. Who we are

Galaxia Quest is a magazine published by BAGC Multimedia Pvt. Ltd. The website is operated from India. For the purpose of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDPA”), BAGC is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect

We collect a small, deliberate set of information:

  • Account information you give us via Google sign-in: your name, email address, and profile picture URL, returned by Google when you choose “Sign in with Google”. We do not see or store your Google password.
  • Newsletter signups: if you submit your email on the Subscribe page, we store that email along with the submission timestamp.
  • Usage and technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, the page you requested) generated by our hosting provider, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in between visits.

We do not collect payment information at this time. We do not sell your data.

3. How we use it

  • To create and maintain your Galaxia Quest account.
  • To give you access to magazine issues, blog posts, and other content that requires signing in.
  • To send you the newsletters and editorial updates you have subscribed to. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To keep the site running — fixing bugs, preventing abuse, and understanding which articles are being read (in aggregate).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing and third parties

We share your data only with the small set of service providers required to run the site:

  • Google LLC — handles the sign-in flow. When you click “Sign in with Google”, Google authenticates you and returns your name and email to us. Their handling of that data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel Inc. — our hosting and database provider. Your account record and session live in a Postgres database operated for us by Vercel.
  • BAGC editorial systems (Daftar / Vritti, ShowNoMore) — our internal content-management tools. These store editorial content, not user accounts.

We will share personal data with a government or law-enforcement authority only when legally required, and only the minimum necessary to comply.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies for two purposes:

  • Session cookie — keeps you signed in. Removing it signs you out.
  • Preference cookies — remember small UI choices (for example whether you have dismissed a banner).

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or trackers. If that ever changes, we will say so here first.

6. Your rights

Under DPDPA and similar laws elsewhere, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete your account and the personal data tied to it.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
  • Lodge a grievance with our Grievance Officer (contact below) or with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, email dev@shownomore.com from the address tied to your account. We respond within 30 days.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete it, we remove it within 30 days — except for the minimum records we are legally required to retain (for example, transaction logs when we are required to keep them).

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe; subscription logs are then removed within 90 days.

8. Security

We use reasonable industry-standard measures to protect your data — encrypted database connections, encrypted secrets management, and access controls limiting who at BAGC can see user records. No system on the internet is perfectly secure; if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board promptly.

9. Children

Galaxia Quest is intended for readers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account on our site, please write to us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Some of our service providers (notably Google and Vercel) may process your data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's own safeguards and on the cross-border transfer provisions of DPDPA.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect. Material changes will also be flagged on the home page or by email.
